Standalone with Externals crashing

I launch the program and execute a handler that runs the EnhancedQT external.  Crash. 
I re-launch the program and execute the a handler that runs the setDesktop external.  Crash again.

I am going to download 2.2 and see if the same thing happens.  I just hope I can find my license key!
