Custom property

Let me know if you have not received an answer that you can grasp on 
the question of custom properties. God knows somehow it was pretty 
elusive from the explanations that I received. I finally did get one 
from someone that at least enabled me to use them to an extent. I can 
give you a bare minimum example that you can take off with.
