Tar

I may have a need for creating Tar files in Transcript -- have any of you
already published code that does that?

Also, if I read the spec correctly it seems there isn't a slot in the format
for tucking away extras like Mac metadata (at a minimum type and creator
codes, but it would be nice to stack res data as well).  Am I overlooking
something?
