Don't know a way to stop this.

Yes, look for the little "link" icon in the upper-right corner of the 
property palette. Click it. It turns into a solid link (an infinity 
sign). Now the script for this object is locked and the window won't 
switch to another object.

However, you *will* get another property palette open if you click 
another object. But your original script window still remains.
