Unexpected quits

I discovered a long time ago that certain internal errors will cause
a standalone to simply quit without an error window. For example, if
it refers to a graphic that doesn't exist, it will simply just quit
instead of popping the Execution Error stack.

Do the newer versions still just quit? Or does the Execution Error
window appear with more details of the offending code?

I've got a bugger of a bug that I simply cannot pin down. Can I hope
that when I upgrade, instead of just quitting I'll get a nifty error
window?

I'm about to BUST. The new Mac Pros have come out, I've got the
funds set aside, but do not know whether to order it now TODAY, or
whether to wait until everybody is carrying them and see if I can get
a better deal, or a freebie thrown in or something :-)
