Selecting an application

Where that breaks is if you want to allow a user to select any file,
including both documents and applications.

I wouldn't mind a solution, but this being another example of the "Apple
tax" I don't mind designing around it and just documnting it appropriately.
;)

New question: How are apps distinguished on Unix?  It doesn't seem dependent
on the file extension....
