I was also surprised to find Rev's Home stack password-protected.

In practical terms, though, there's little detriment:  the Rev plugin
architecture allows you to have stacks that start when Rev starts, so you
can have your own stack that does any initialization you need, and/or
manages other stacks.

In some ways this might be better than modifying the Home stack, as you
don't lose your changes when you upgrade.
