Scott's legacy

I gotta chime in and say Scott rocks also. Same rapid resolution of tech
glitches from him as others have pointed out. He also saved my butt
recently in a license snafu with a client breathing down my neck on
deadline. I have NEVER had any other company come close to what Scott has
done for me (and what ive seen hes done for others on the list), and I
have been working with multimedia software since 1985.

I really hope Scott can make more money and have a gentler life with this
deal. If anyone i know in the biz DESERVES it, its Scott.

I know many folks are getting upset that things are changing, but if you
cant stand change, then you shouldnt be in this business, its full of
change. Its the nature of the beast. Over the years i have migrated
through all the xtalk products and kept myself viable through them all. I
have had multimedia cdroms that Apple and other big distributes have sold
and survived having to switch authoring systems and abandon old
code/systems and rebuild in the latest and greatest... Nothing is static
or forever in a business like this, so you have to build it into your
business plan that things will change on you. If you dont you'll have big
trouble in the biz.

sorry if my opinion is a bit harsh in its delivery, but I think it is
something we should all (in the biz) talk about openly as something we
just have to deal with, and share strategies to deal with it.

Again, I just want to give Scott all the kudos in the world for his work
on Metacard and I doubt he will be abandoning us all, but i expect being
able to focus more on what he really excels at and also (i hope) enjoying
life more and maybe having a few more $$ in his pocket to do that and i
dont begrudge him any of it!

thanks Scott!

cheers,

jeff
