File Details

Maybe I'm missing something but "there's gotta be an easier way to do 
this."

I'd like to get the detailed file information of a single file.  
Apparently the only way to get this is by setting the directory to the 
file's enclosing folder, retrieving the detailed file information for 
that folder into a list, and then extracting the target file's offset in 
the list?
