Hidden Windows keep re-showing

Hi all. I'm having fits here. Just before I open a stack modally, I hide another stack. But the hidden stack keeps re-showing itself! Is there an event I can trap for when a window is shown? I need to find what is doing it and I have already scoured and traced the code and attempted to step through it with breakpoints set everywhere. I can't find it.
