I'm not sure what Jacque is talking about; for me on OS X 10.9.5 the search
and display behaviour is exactly the same in LC800rc1 as it is for LC714rc2
- the current document remains displayed as I type in a new term in the
search field - the top field of hits changes as I keep typing in more
letters. When I find what I need and click on it's title in the hits field,
the new document is then displayed in the lower field - exactly the same as
the LC6 and LC7 Dictionary.

[Oops,I just realised, there is a Preference in pre-LC8; Documentation
which gives you the option to choose 'Single Column' or 'Multi-Column'.
I've always had mine 'Multi-Column' which appears very similar to the way
the LC8 Dictionary is displayed so if you used Single Column display in
pre-LC8 then I can see why the new format might be confusing. LC8 has no
Documentation preference.]

As Monte said the improved feature in LC8 is the tab of breadcrumbs along
the top that keeps track of documents you've viewed so you can quickly
switch back and forth between multiple entries - not just 2 but as many
that can fit in the width of the tab, so if the titles are small you can
have quite a few but if you have a couple of big ones then it may be just 2
or 3; but the chevrons either side let you move about your breadcrumb
history.

In addition to some of the format issues as pointed out by Jacque, my only
other real complaint is the font used is WAY TO BIG. Everything is at least
twice the size compared to the pre LC8 Dictionary, even the spacing between
lines, so it's a massive waste of screen real estate and you have to do too
much scrolling.
