Yes. You have to use syntax that makes it plain to the engine that the variable tID should be evaluated before any action is taken. The only way to do that is to use language that can only be applied to controls, ie, setting a property. Since you can't set a property of a variable, the engine looks at the contents of the variable and sees that it's an object reference and proceeds on that basis.
