Apple Color Picker is Screwed Up in El Capitan!!

Are you talking about the square to the left of the eye dropper, and how it’s white if you reopen the color picker? Was it ever different from that? You can drag a color you want to keep around into one of the little squares to the right. Then the color is still there next time.
