Been trying more combinations of input/output formats and all seems to work
OK.

I did discover that if the input date is invalid in some way, the input is
left unchanged.

Not mentioned in the dictionary is that the result is set to "invalid date"
if the date cannot be converted.  I tried to add this as a user note to the
dictionary but never got past "an attempting to log in..." message.
