Graham,

for Windows i am using Monte´s InstallGadget which is based on innosetup, but much easier to use.
On Mac this tool just creates a dmg.

Is there really a need for an installer on Mac? Most of the mac software is delivered as dmg. The user just has to drag the app bundle or app folder to the Application folder.

If you want to graphically pimp your dmg then i would try DropDMG. Very easy to use and very good results.

I am seeking an economical way of having an installer (or two installers) for a cross-platform LiveCode standalone - desktop, Windows and Mac. I have tried to use Mark Schonewille's LC-oriented solution but I can't make it work. So far my researches (Google mostly) seem to point to very expensive solutions intended for high volume sales. As I have no idea what sales volume to expect (it will be in the range zero to 1000!), this type of solution is not for me.

This didn't used to matter, either on Windows or Mac, and I have products out there where the installation 'just works', but increasingly it seems that the OSs are expecting a proper installing process.
