Yes, that's exactly it. I'm not sure, but you may have to resign the app 
after you add new icns files to the bundle. There are tools to do that, 
or you can use Terminal commands. AppWrapper is one tool, or google for 
the correct terminal commands.

I don't know how Windows does it.
