"disabling" a coloroverlay?

I made abutton, set its coloroverlay color to RED and added this scriupt:
on mouseUp
   set the coloroverlay["color"] of me to ""
end mouseUp

-> Execution error! :-/

Setting it to 0 results in a WHITE overly?
