dealing with these *huge* pdf files generated

The PDF file that you linked (output.cd.jrlien_multiexempt.pdf) 
was really small. Just 468k.

Could you post this EXACT PDF file created using LiveCode
pdf printing command? 

Maybe, just maybe, Livecode is interpreting each word as
an object, so instead of a single object (a paragraph) the
file produced have thousands of objects (one for each word).
