Sorry, just re-read your reply and realised I skipped this,

  if false or true and false then

Condition 1 (if false) returns false
Condition 2 (true AND false) also returns false

From memory (like 30 years ago!) when programming in Basic we used to put operators in caps and it did help with working out problems like this.
