stack is corrupted when opening in version 6.01

Most likely thing is that you have a password protected substack in there
somewhere.  I had the same issue, a stack that had animation engine
attached to it. Removed AE and voila' works fine now.  Course I no longer
can use AE and am having to change some things around to work without it.
