save data on cards in standalone app

The part in the article about saving to the user's documents folder is handy to know. As it happens, at least on my machine I am allowed to do the save even if the application is in Applications.

I picked up on this topic because I am about to need to do the same thing, only on an iPad, and there I am expecting to have to go to more trouble. Also, there will be an advantage I suspect in doing a clone of the stack to the documents folder, because it ought to survive an application update.
