Are you saying the so-called ebooks come from RR or this list? If so,
it's spam. I've never seen one.
If they are from someone else and you are sure you didn't subscribe to
some subscription somewhere, it is still likely spam. A computer has
malware that's sending out enticing things so you'll open the
attachments. What's the extension on the file? If it's an exe it is
almost certainly malware.
