It may not be needed. Unity does use it, an Xcode project is made, and you have to build the app to the phone yourself, but with GameSalad your GameSalad project gets converted directly to an App, using server side code. If Rev worked that way, you wouldn't need to install the iPhone SDK at all, but you would still need to have paid the $99 per year iPhone dev license, in order to get the certificate and provisioning files.
