By now you should have a keyboard menu near the right end of your menu bar. Mine is between the AirPort and Sound icons. It would look like  a French flag for you. If it's not there, go into the language & text preferences and select the "show input menu in menu bar" option (whatever the French for that is!).

The Show Character Viewer and Show Keyboard Viewer are both in that menu.
