Extracting text from PDF

Try some different PDF files. I notice that some just open as binary and 
others do get translated. I haven't figured out why some fail. Most of 
those that I created with OS X's print file dialog (print to PDF) seem 
to work. Some others which I got from other sources don't do as well.
