That is interesting.  On Windows XP when I look at the file name returned by the answer command, I get

C:/Documents and Settings/mark/Desktop/cu.txt

The keystrokes are *not* being split as on Mac, but *are* being 'flattened' to low-ASCII.  But with same end result.
