Digital camcorders and Rev

Hiya,

I've known of .mpg files being spat out, and some only after installing 
some third party software that converts the camera's format.
Some cameras will only mount with that third party software, others play 
nice and mount as an additional drive.
Some brands even differ in their output format depending on the camera 
media: HD, miniDVD, cards or whatever. I suppose the media might 
influence the output format due to compression versus storage speed.
