Paint Buicket Not working as advertised

None of the paint tools change, they aren't supposed to. There are also 
no messages sent to your stack when any of the paint or draw tools are 
in use. Basically, when you are painting, you are in a different mode.

The brush works, but you need to choose a color first. It isn't 
initialized to black.
