Just FYI, it's because the underlying engine is versioned 2.6.6 even though
the application is 2.6.1. There was an engine/application version difference
when Runtime Revolution acquired the MetaCard engine several years ago, and
there has been an active plan to get them synchronized ever since (which
happened in 2.7, BTW).

A little trivia for the day...
