While this indeed puts the name/label of the button on *top* of the icon 
it is an awkward workaround with deficiencies (concerning the clickable 
area of the button).

Another solution would be to set the image/icon as a backpattern of the 
button, but this only is feasable for rectangular images, because the 
transparent parts of non-rectangular images appear as black when used as 
backpatterns.

In a number of (eductional) contexts it is necessary to decide upon the 
name/label of a button at runtime, meaning to produce pre-fabricated 
combinations of images with text would not be a possible solution - for 
example for matching or multiple-choice exercises.

We indeed need, in many cases, a feature where non-rectangular and 
partly transparent icons can be placed directly under the button name.
