Database conncetions

When I try to connect to a remote database with the Rev database  
library (and there is no valid connection) - I get a never ending  
spinning cursor.

Is there a way around this?

Im and MacOSX 10-4-1 and although I do not think this should make a  
difference I am connecting to the remote database via an ssh tunnel  
set up via the command line (so in the scripts I connect to  
localhost). Works fine if the tunnel is up - but time outs cause this  
"crash".
