Just to follow-up on the OSX crashing bug reported with editing text sounds very similar to my experience on WinXP with 2.7. Mycrash log simply reports an exception error so it doesn't seem terribly helpful in tracking down what is happening. Anyway, I'm dealing with support on it but it seems the issue is multi-platform and not just a WinXP problem.
