Sure - we all know Java applets suck.

But you miss the point - or at least one of them. The desktop app you  
are talking about is using "web services". Web services have nothing  
in their nature to do with standard HTML browsers. They can be used  
by AJAX style web sites (or plain vanilla web sites), but they can  
also be used by Rev based desktop applications.

Dans point is that we will see a good deal of current desktop  
applications moving over to Frapr style AJAX sites which is a  
potential threat to RunRev style desktop applications. There may or  
may not be a reasonably decent AJAX style replacement for the clunky  
Java applet you describe - done AJAX style. I sounds unlikely.

The point I am making is that Rev could be positioned right smack  
bang in the middle of this new world (which is not a Java applet  
world) - but this requires some thinking, some development and some  
marketing.
