fieldTemplate Broken?

Is anyone successfully using the fieldTemplate property in Rev 2.5? I'm 
unable to get it to have any effect, but I could be misunderstanding 
its use.

I create a new mainstack, and before I create any objects, I type in 
the message  box, "set the margins of the fieldTemplate to 10". Then I 
check to be sure that worked by typing "put the margins of field id 0" 
(docs say 0 is the id of the templateField). It's 10,. I create a new 
field. Its margins are 8, both in the inspector and when examined from 
the message box.

If this worked, it would be a nice addition to my forthcoming eBook on 
printing in Rev, but I can't write about it if it doesn't work.

BTW, I get the same result on Windows and OS X.
