design problem: fonts and spacing

Your display will not view like you want unless you use a monospaced 
font such as Courier, Monaco or Tahoma.   Verdana, maybe, I'm not 
sure.

Palatino is a proportional font. Courier can be ugly, I don't use it 
myself except for code.
