Depending on what you want to search and apart from Yves COPPE's 
(yvescoppe at skynet.be) proposed initial script and other suggestions, 
you might take a look at two stacks you can download from my website 
<www.sanke.org/MetaMedia>, page "Tools and Samples For Development":

"Topsearch" searches text in all fields of a stack,

"RevBrowser" contains a script search feature with different options 
that is very fast, e.g. all controls on all cards of a 1000-cards stack 
in about 4 seconds.
