how to remove blank lines from table

That works for me ..... simple stack with two fields and on button - the 
button script is

on mouseUp
  put field "Field" into field "lockedField"
  filter field "lockedField" with "?*"
  put ">>>" after field "lockedField"             -- to let me see if 
trailing blank lines  were deleted
end mouseup

and it works properly. I did comment out the filter line and verified 
the lines were there.
