Tab delimited data not working...

Hi Glen,

well, the chunk "word n" is giving you the nth word of the string;
so, it's right but using item will work as you ask for !

set the itemdelimiter to tab
put item  3 of line 1 of fld "data"
-- 23	tab	35	tab	76	tab	55	tab 	99 
-- gives  ==> 76

put item  3 of line 1 of fld "data"
-- 23	tab	tab	tab	76	tab	55	tab 	99
-- gives  ==> empty

put item  5 of line 1 of fld "data"
-- 23	tab	tab	tab	76	tab	55	tab 	99
-- gives  ==> 55
