I'm trying to start a process on OS X. I think 'open process ... for neither' is out; it returns an error code. (The 'open process' is not ready on OS X.) I tried shell. This may be the way to go, but I don't know enough about shells to make this work. I tried using '&' but shell() seems to wait for all processes to complete. Dar Scott
