Advanced rtf formatting

Hey,

I'm looking for a way to create a rtf document with two columns. Short of
that, I would at least like to be able to control where the tab stops are.
Does anybody know a solution to this that isn't trying to decipher and
output the cryptic raw rtf format myself? I have searched the net and found
a $50 PHP script that will translate a (supposedly) user friendly html-like
syntax to rtf format, but it of course this requires that PHP be installed.
Does anybody know of a similar tool that could be used directly from
Revolution?

Also, in a somewhat related issue, all my tabs are being translated to
underscores when I export the RTFText of a field and open the resulting
document with Microsoft Word. What's with that?
