Standalone Question

I need to create a standalone where cards-data-etc. can be added and changed 
and saved. It seems this can only be done in rev by importing and exporting 
to another file. I've checked out the docs and the example stack. Does anyone 
have a simple stack   I can look at?   Something as simple as a phone number 
standalone on the order of the old Hypercard phone stack.
