Serendipity Library Update 20031220 is now available for download at
<http://www.oenolog.net/ftp/serendipity_downloader.htm>.

This update includes the first release of the Client/Server version
of Serendipity Database--Binary (SDB) and the revolution_ipc group's
interprocess communication library, libIPC, to the Revolution
community at large.

SDB is a general-purpose, hierarchical database written entirely in
Transcript. It runs in single user or client/server mode with
identical syntax, and includes database administration & search
utilities. Serendipity Library is available without charge to all
Revolution & MetaCard developers, and is now 100% open source.

SDB databases support:

* Multiple record types
* Variable length records, fields, & keys
* Record access by
      Exact or approximate key
      Relative position (ie: first, next, previous, & last)
      Record Id (db stack card Id)
      Raw record number (db stack card number - 3)
* Update and retrieval of individual fields
* Record selection based on field contents.

SDB, like Serendipity Library in general, is multi-lingual and user
translatable. The Library currently ships with language support in
Dutch, English, French, German, & Spanish.

Enjoy!
