Portable fonts and usage recommendations needed

Mac:"Arial" => Win:"Arial" 12=>10 14=>12 18=>14

Win:"Arial" => Mac:"Arial" 10=>12 12=>14

Boy would I like to be a lazy-bone regarding mapping cross-platform 
fonts. So has anyone done this yet? Is there a full or mostly complete 
comparison font map for Win, Mac classic, Mac X, and Linux in Rev?
