Hi Jim,
I dont understand that level of coding too but maybe that idea is 
helpful.
I saw exactly this, and a bit more , because the other app must not be 
open done in services with Cocoa apps on the a Mac. How you can use 
services with rev maybe some of the real coders here know that..
If it should be for WIN and Linux to - no idea...
