Question about masks

you can use images with build-in masks (alpha-channels) in these formats:

GIF, which can have a 1-bit transparency (which doesn't look too good in 
most cases,
but can be animated !)  and

PNG, which can have a 8-bit transparency (smeitransparency), which is 
wonderful,
if you need something like real dropshadows etc...
