Not quite. I suspect it's because this is the only open window. In an app,
you cannot close all the windows; doing that quits the application. (Little
architectural idiosyncrasy.)

The solution is to make sure there is a window open at all times - probably
best to leave your modeless main stack open. You can hide this stack
instead of closing it if you don't want it to appear on screen.
