quit problem

When I create a standalone for MacOS, there is a default quit under the application menu, even though I didn't create a menubar. The problem is that picking this quit menu doesn't seem to generate any of the normal messages such as closeStack, closeStackRequest, shutdown, and shutDownRequest. Consequently, I don't have a chance to do my clean up and save.

Is this behavior intended? Will it be the same in 2.0? Any ideas for a workaround?
