Subscription renewal - the new terms

Hi Bob,
Curry is talking about the costs/T&Cs for Create. I confess I barely
paid attention to that when it was discussed (on the uselist maybe
around the summer of 2024???), because I decided it didn't affect me
(*). I do remember there was a lot of concern that the pricing models
looked cumbersome, or had lots of overhead, or .... or just weren't easy
to understand or allow for.
There is a summary at livecode.com/pricing - it talks about per-seat
costs (for both developers and users) - which would appear to apply to
in-house tools, including those developed by single-person developers
contracted to an organisation) - or different terms for apps for sale.
(*) as a hobbyist who will never sell an app, and only do (at most) very
limited distribution as a free app for charity or other local
organisations - it just didn't look like I would be affected, so I
didn't follow the discussion properly.
But the bottom line is (as usual) Livecode is a small flexible company
that wants you to succeed - so contact them for fuller, custom,
discussion if the standard pricing model seems unworkable.
Alex.
