autohilite FUBAR?

I tested this and it is true. As you move the Mouse across the button (in the mouse-Down) it does flash.

I recently noticed that if you hold the mouse down on a button and move it, the button doesn't stay highlighted, but instead the highlight  flashes.

Anyone else seeing this?  Anyone have a clue as to when it first went south?
