Diff?

I just discovered three very interesting functions in the Dictionary:

DiffCompare
DiffCompareFiles
DiffPatch

Supercool - I can put these to use soon.

The Dictionary entries for these are unusually sparse - anyone here know 
which version these were added in, and why?
